Part of the team – REI shares member stories

Almost all businesses (should) have their main goal of being able to reach their audience. Whether that be through targeted marketing or working to gain new clients, businesses need to connect with their audience. How can they do this? By making their clients an important member of their team.

Involving customers on a personal level with your business is essential. Customers don’t want to support a company that does not care about their wants and needs. Businesses need to incorporate their customers into their process and making customers feel important and connected to the company.

For example, REI does a great job with connecting customers to the company. Below is an example of how REI took a REI member’s story – of how Mark uses their products for camping- and shows the products available for purchasing. REI features members’ stories of how and why they use REI products.

Customers of REI connect with this story because Mark is just like them. This is a great way that REI shows they care about their members and their customers greatly benefit from their products. REI makes their customers feel important as they relate to Mark and know that they are connected to REI personally. By telling Mark’s story, it entices people to want to join REI membership where they can be taken care of with REI’s products.
