Blueforest Studios has been making videos in Raleigh, North Carolina for quite a while now. And one thing that we’ve found to be the most impactful for any video we make is a good story. We work with companies of all types: Medical, Technology, etc. And for all of them, we help them find and tell their brand story.
You might not think you have a story, but we believe you do. And, we believe people want to hear it. If your story happens out on the water, we’ll go out on the water. If your story happens at home, we’ll go to your home. If you don’t think your story isn’t animated enough, we can animate it.
What makes a good story?
If you look at any good story there was a character. You can’t have a story without them. Just like you can’t have a sandwich without bread. If you remove character or characters form a story can you still have a story? The answer is no. If you think about TV commercials and brand storytelling can you think of any that didn’t have a character? Actually, most TV commercials don’t have a character to them. Now, this isn’t saying you can’t have a great TV commercial without a character. But what we are trying to say is that you as the marketer are not going to be telling your brand story if you don’t have a character.
Next, the value is what values the character has. What does the character value most in life? If there is no value to the character then you have no reason to root for this character or even care about them. A sandwich without the middle ingredients is just two pieces of bread or toast.
Last, the threat is the second piece of bread. If you didn’t have the second piece of bread you would just have an open face sandwich. It sounds cruel but we need a threat to the value. If there isn’t a threat to the characters value there is no reason to care for the character in the end.
